How to help your child in his process of learning a second language

Patience is a tree with bitter roots but very sweet fruits. -- Persian proverb

There are many cognitive, academic, and social benefits of learning languages. And even more so, if you start learning during childhood, because it is easier for the little ones to retain information.

Today's blog is dedicated to you, the father or mother of a family who is interested in guiding and accompanying their child on this long path of bilingualism, as they require making a conscious effort to help their children learn. Here are some tips to keep in mind when raising bilingual children.

At Like a Latin Kid we seek ways to adapt to your children's cognitive processes and ways of learning. Here we will give three tips to go hand in hand with your child in their process of learning Spanish, for example: we recommend you to be very patient and know how your child learns.

INTRODUCE HIM TO SPANISH WITH LITTLE THINGS.

We recommend you make cards with images of fruits and vegetables, as well as pets with their names in Spanish. This will help your child recognize the vocabulary and writing of these in Spanish.

LEARN WITH YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTERS

Whether with movies or cartoons, we recommend you put them in Spanish and with Spanish subtitles so that your little one becomes familiar with and understands the language more and more.

DO NOT GIVE UP

If the little one is progressing with improvement, encourage him to continue learning and not abandon the language so that it is not complicated later to return to it. The more the child intrudes, the easier it will be for him to communicate.
